Opportunities To Give
Oceans of Mercy would like to provide several opportunities for people to help the HIV/AIDS victims of South Africa.
1) VOLUNTEER
Oceans of Mercy Programs rely heavily on the help of volunteers.
- Fund Raising - Volunteers are crucial to the success of any fundraising events (Golf Tournament, Run For Mercy 5K, Block Party, Dinner Parties etc.)
- Operations - The operation of the organization (board of directors etc.) will be primarily by volunteers.
- Materials and supplies - Volunteers coordinate donated medical supplies, books, clothes and more.
- Specific needs - Once the Village is operational, volunteers will have an opportunity to work at the village to meet any special needs e.g. Build a play set, conduct a field trip, coach a sports team, mow the lawn.
- Mission Work - The Oceans of Mercy structure calls for the majority of employees at the Village to be self-funded missionaries, based on a model that involves family and community in supporting the individual financially.
- Committees - A variety of committee members will be needed to meet specific needs, oversee specific projects, or to raise funds and materials.

2) DIRECT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION
In order to fund our projects, there is a need for funding from a variety of sources.
- Cash Gifts - This type of gift provides a federal income tax charitable deduction on the givers federal income tax return.
- Matching Cash Gifts - Many companies match donations made by their employees, directors, employee’s spouses and retirees.
- Stocks and Bonds - Appreciated stocks and bonds can be donated as an asset to Oceans of Mercy, Inc.
- Endowment Giving - The establishment of an endowment fund is a way to leave a lasting legacy to help the children of South Africa. There is a minimum amount required for the establishment of an endowment fund.
- Government Funding - Investigation into funding from the USA and South African governments will be ongoing and extensive.
- Missions - Oceans of Mercy, Inc. hopes to become the favorite mission of many Churches and/or Community benevolent groups.
3) INDIRECT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION (through the United Way)
- Individuals can write in our name and address on the Donor Choice Form in the space provided for local non-United Way agencies.
