The Oceans of Mercy Children's Village

Village Arial View On April 14th, 2005, the Oceans of Mercy Children's Village opened on a beautiful 5 acre farm in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Mama Gladys Panda and 11 orphaned children moved into an existing home on the farm and life for these children will never be the same. A dream has been fulfilled to develop a Children's Village in South Africa.

The dream, however, does not stop at providing a loving home, education, and healthcare for eleven children. That is just the beginning. According to the South Africa National Council for Child Welfare, at least 260 children are abandoned each month in the Eastern Cape. We must provide more room for these abandoned children. Mama Gladys' waiting list of children has started to grow, and our desire to increase the numbers of children we give a home grows with that list.

Our plans for the village in 2005 include increasing the living space to house more children and ensure that we are able to support the ongoing needs of the village.
